Sally Does Data

Terms of Service

Draft v0.1 — effective upon public launch. Pending attorney review.

1. The service

Sally Does Data (“Sally”, “we”) helps you catalog, fingerprint, enrich, share, and export your files and their metadata. The service is operated from the United States and offered only to residents of the United States, aged 13 or older (under 18 requires a parent or guardian's permission).

2. Your content stays yours

You retain all rights to files and metadata you add. You grant us only the limited license needed to operate the service: to store, process (fingerprint, thumbnail, extract metadata), display to you, and display to others only according to the sharing choices you make. We do not sell your content. We do not use your content to train AI models. Community and open-data programs, when they launch, will be separate, explicit, opt-in choices with their own terms.

3. Your responsibilities

Only add content you have the right to use. No unlawful content, no content that infringes others' rights, no malware, and nothing depicting the sexual abuse of minors — such content is removed and reported as required by law. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service (including excessive automated traffic).

4. Copyright complaints

We respond to takedown notices under the DMCA. See our DMCA page for how to send a notice. We terminate repeat infringers.

5. Leaving

You can export your catalog and delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion permanently removes your data from our systems within 30 days (up to 90 days in backups).

6. Disclaimers

The service is provided “as is” without warranties. Keep your own copies of your files: Sally is a catalog and enrichment layer, not a guaranteed backup service. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before a claim.

7. Changes & contact

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced by email or in-app. Questions: hello@sallydoesdata.com.
